Derek is excited to have returned to Olde Town Brokers. He originally joined the OTB team in 1999 as a sales agent and developed his skills in real estate sales, development and leadership to become the company’s CFO through 2007. Since then, Derek was privileged to serve the students and families of New York City as a Math teacher, Assistant Principal and HS Principal. He rejoined the Olde Town Brokers team in May 2022 to support and accelerate the company’s brand relaunch.
As a lifelong learner and unwavering subscriber of Carol Dweck’s growth mindset research, Derek designs Olde Town Brokers’ training and development initiatives for agents and staff. He believes that all people have innate curiosities and skills that are continually growing with support, compassion and empathy from others. In addition to facilitating authentic learning, Derek curates company social and professional events and works to recruit and welcome new agents that value collaboration, opportunity and support to the OTB community.
When not working with his team at Olde Town Brokers, you’ll likely find Derek walking with his dog Ellen, strength training or running around Downtown Orlando or working up some of his culinary magic with fresh produce from his backyard garden for family and friends.
