Touted as ‘Orlando’s Original Art Party’, First Thursdays is hosted by the Orlando Museum of Art on, you guessed it, the first Thursday of every month. Each month has a different theme and features local artists and live music in order to encourage appreciation for the visual arts. It’s a $10 entry for non-members and a cash bar sells a selection of wine, beer, and food from local restaurants.
OMA also offers several education programs to the Orlando community in hopes of increasing art awareness. Adults can take a guided tour, participate in gallery talks, and attend lectures and accredited courses. Art camps organized by OMA allow children to experiment with the artistic expression and fosters a base within the arts.
